Angelica Nichols
Girls 13 Navy Head Coach
Bio
After a standout high school career, Angelica took her talents to the NCAA Division II level, earning a scholarship to play volleyball and compete in track and field at Glenville State University in West Virginia. As a sophomore, she proudly served as Co-Captain of the Lady Pioneers volleyball team, leading with heart and hustle. Though her college career was shortened by injury, Angelica remained a dedicated teammate and sideline motivator. She graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Her love for the game didn’t stop there. Angelica got her first taste of coaching at Gilmer County High School, helping guide the team to a third-place state finish. Since then, she’s been all in—bringing energy, encouragement, and just the right amount of spice to the court. She’s currently part of the South Lakes Boys Volleyball coaching staff and is returning for her fourth season with the St. James program, having previously worked with 12U, 13U, & 16U teams.
Off the court, Angelica is a Case Manager in Washington, DC, and is earning her master’s in social work. Her coaching style blends tough love with laughs, teamwork with TikToks, and drills with dance breaks. She’s passionate about creating a fun, uplifting environment where young athletes can grow their confidence, skills, and love for the game.
