Leadership Team
Nikki Mabrey
Director of Volleyball
Nikki Mabrey brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as Director of Volleyball at The St. James. After growing up in Hawaii, Nikki moved to Virginia as a high school freshman and quickly made her mark at Battlefield High School, where she was a four-year Varsity starter and standout Middle Blocker. Her athleticism and leadership earned her numerous Division I offers, but she chose to pursue a full scholarship at Virginia State University for both Volleyball and Track & Field.
At Virginia State, Nikki transitioned to Outside Hitter, starting all four years and serving as team captain for three. She was named MVP and earned a spot on the CIAA All-Conference Team her senior year.
Following her collegiate career, Nikki began coaching at Flint Hill School, where she served as Head Coach of the JV team and Varsity Assistant Coach. During her three-year tenure, she led the JV team to undefeated, first-place conference finishes each season and contributed to multiple state championship runs with the varsity squad.
With over a decade of club coaching experience, Nikki has worked with every age group and consistently led teams to top-3 regional finishes and repeated USAV Nationals qualifications. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that success on the court starts with developing the whole athlete. She focuses on building discipline, confidence, resilience, and a competitive mindset—skills that benefit her players both on and off the court.
Now in her third year as Director at The St. James, Nikki has overseen significant program growth, including an increase in team offerings, multiple athletes recruited to collegiate programs, and the club’s first podium finish at Nationals this past season. She remains committed to helping athletes reach their highest potential and is excited to continue building excellence with both returning and new players.
