Alexis Capers
Girls 17 Navy Head Coach
Bio
Alexis Lynn Capers, originally from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, discovered her love for the game of volleyball at the tender age of 12. Having natural talent, she immediately excelled as a middle blocker demonstrating her skills on the highly competitive team, East Coast Power Volleyball in King of Prussia, PA. Because good wasn’t good enough, Alexis spent hours honing her craft throughout high school which afforded her the opportunity to be a D1 recruit at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Her freshmen year, she started in 87 out of 94 sets and was a key blocker on the team.
While Lafayette College is a tremendous school, it was not the school for Alexis, so she transferred to Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Unfortunately, Spelman College does not offer sports, but she still had a desire to be involved in volleyball, which birthed her passion for coaching. Alexis has been coaching for five years ranging from both high school to club volleyball and most recently collegiate volleyball as this is her first year as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland.
