Ashanti Day

Ashanti Day grew up in Winchester, Virginia and started playing volleyball in the 4th grade. She played as a Middle Blocker at the EPAN Volleyball Club, Potomac Elite Volleyball Club, and on the James Wood High School varsity volleyball team for 4 years. To improve her performance, she went to regular strength training sessions at FASST Sports Performance Training, coached by James Frisby and Angela Orsini. She was recruited to play volleyball at Virginia State University and received a full scholarship. During her time at Virginia State, she gained versatility in her skills by playing as a Middle Blocker, Opposite, and Serving Specialist. 

For the love of the game, Ashanti has continued to play volleyball in a recreational adult sand league and wants to give back to the volleyball community by coaching. During her first year of coaching, she assistant coached the Girls 17 Navy team last year for The St. James.
