Bio

Coach Ashley has a deep-rooted passion for the game of volleyball. Having played for Bowie High School for four consecutive years, she served as a 6-rotation right-side hitter for the first three seasons before transitioning into the role of setter in her senior year. Her senior year performance earned her all-county honors as well as the team’s MVP title. During her collegiate years at the University of Kansas, Ashley played as a defensive specialist for the KU women’s Club volleyball team, a tenure that helped earn the team a National D1 Club Volleyball Championship in 2015.

While playing for the club, Ashley also worked as a team manager for the University of Kansas D1 volleyball team, where she assisted in a range of responsibilities, including practices and game day tasks and coaching KU camps. During this time, she was able to work under 3-time Big 12 coach of the year, Coach Ray Bechard, and assistant coaches Laura “Bird” Kuhn, Todd Chamberlain, and Wendel Camargo. Her experience gave her valuable insights into the sport, which led her to begin her assistant coaching career at Perry-Lecompton High School in Kansas, eventually helping them reach a semi-state appearance. She also served as head assistant coach at Sumner Academy High School, guiding the team to its winningest season. Ashley is ready to bring her love for the sport, knowledge, and fun coaching style to St. James.
