Dennis Young

Dennis Young grew up in Indiana Pennsylvania, a town outside of Pittsburgh. He tarted playing volleyball when he was in the military.  Dennis has played for multiple military teams and also played on beach tours in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After Dennis left the North Carolina area he played in tournaments and assisted coaching in Hawaii.

Dennis moved to Virginia where he retired from the US Army and began his coaching career with the South County Youth Association (SYC).  Dennis has coached over 20 seasons with SYC from elementary, middle school, middle and High school travel teams. Dennis has been with The St. James for two years now with program’s and assisted with 14N in the 2023-2024 season part time

Dennis core values are good sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence. These values not only improve his teams, but are valuable life lessons that will follow the players the rest of their lives.

Dennis likes to work hard, have fun, learn from each other and watch as the players grow and improve their volleyball skills.
