Laurel Thrash

Laurel is excited to join the The St. James as a first-time coach, sharing more than 17 years of volleyball experience. A Texas native, Laurel began playing volleyball in 7th grade and continued playing competitively through her senior year of high school. Laurel was a three-year varsity letterman and served as co-captain her senior year. That same year, her team competed in the Texas state championship (4A division) and finished with a 36-8 overall record. Laurel earned recognition as part of the Texas Girls Coaching Association (TGCA) all-state team and was 1st team all-district. Laurel participated on three different club teams – both travel and local – during her high school years, playing a combination of middle, right side, and defense. Currently, Laurel is passionate about the sport and plays both grass and indoor volleyball recreationally. Laurel feels grateful for the many excellent coaches she has learned from and hopes to share this knowledge with new players.
