Bio

Quan’s volleyball journey began in high school in Miami, FL where she was coached by Sally Summer, a nationally ranked volleyball player at Florida State University. Under her mentorship and training, Quan earned a 4-year D1 volleyball scholarship to play Middle Blocker in Washington, DC at Howard University.

As co-captain at Howard, Quan helped to lead her team to three collegiate conference championships. Her team was the first historically black college-university (HBCU) in the nation to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. Quan was ranked as the #2 blocker in the nation her junior year and one of the nation’s top players for highest service aces throughout her college career. She earned All-Conference First Team for 2-years. And just recently, amongst more than 5,000 collegiate volleyball players, Quan was selected as one of the conference’s All Time 50 Best Conference Players within the last 50 years.

Since graduating college, Quan has played competitive sand volleyball and when time allows, she continues to play adult recreation. Quan was an assistant coach for several years at the collegiate level and coaches at a local high school during the high school volleyball season. Quan was the Head Coach for St James’ U12 team last year where her team was ranked one of the top 15 U12 teams in the region.

This will be Quan’s third year coaching at St. James and she’s looking forward to her first year as Head Coach for the U18 Navy team. Quan understands that many student-athletes on the team will be actively preparing for their transition from high school to college. Quan’s goal is to provide a 1st team environment where each player will continue to grow developmentally with the mindset to play competitively at the highest level and to have fun doing it together as one team.
