Bio

Sheena grew up in Northern Virginia and attended Fairfax High School. She was a setter and outside hitter. Her sophomore year, she was named to First Team All-Conference. Her junior year, she was named to First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region. Her senior year, she went 13-0 and won the Liberty District Conference and was named First Team All-Conference and Conference MVP, as well as First Team All-Region.

Sheena then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Rutgers – Newark, where she also competed for the Women’s Volleyball team as a setter. In her Freshman year, she was named the Freshmen Player of the week three times. Her sophomore year, she was named First Team All-Conference, won the conference finals, and went on to play in the NCAA Tournament. She sat out her junior year due to injury. Her senior year, she returned to the court and was named First Team All-Conference again, as well as Female Athlete of the Year for the school. In 2013, Sheena was named to the Rutgers-Newark Hall of Fame and holds the second most assists record in only three seasons of playing. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she went on to get her MBA from Marymount University.

Since graduation, Sheena has been heavily involved in coaching the game at the high school and club level. She is currently the Head Coach at Yorktown High School, where she is entering her 10th season with the Patriots. In 2016, she was named the Liberty Conference Coach of the Year and 6A Northern Region Coach of the Year. Additionally, she served as the Northern Region volleyball President from 2016 – 2021.

Sheena is excited to return to coaching club volleyball at The St. James after taking one season off. Prior to The St. James, Sheena coached a girls club team at Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) for five years before transitioning to a boys club team. She coached for the Arlington Elite 15s and then at The St. James for three seasons (16s, 17s, and 18s).

Outside of her coaching role, Sheena is a PMO Manager for a large Government contract, where she oversees earned value management reporting, the integrated master schedule, financial budgets, and other ad hoc reports. She has the following certifications: PMP, SAFe, and CSM. She loves merging business concepts with sports to prepare players for long term goals in sports and business (corporate or entrepreneurial).
